FINAT, the European label industry association, has announced the winners of the 2022 FINAT Label Competition. The awards ceremony was held on June 1 on the occasion of FINAT’s 64th annual conference, the European Label Forum, at the Grand Hotel Dino in Baveno, along the borders of Lago Maggiore (Italy).

The competition attracted 205 entries from 38 companies from 21 countries worldwide. In addition to the seven Group winners and the 34 Category winners, a total of 73 Highly Commended certificates were distributed. The leading number of countries entering this year was led by Austria with 32 entries, with Turkey close behind with 26 entries.

Meanwhile, Bobst has announced its latest portfolio of products and services to help converters and brand owners navigate through a new packaging environment. The technologies were on display at Bobst’s recent open house at its headquarters in Switzerland.

Back in 2020, Bobst revealed an industry vision based on four key pillars – connectivity, digitalization, automation and sustainability. Recent world events have accelerated the need for these as never before. Now, these four pillars have become the cornerstones not only of the Bobst strategy, but the entire packaging environment.

“While it was impossible to predict world events of recent years, like the pandemic, global conflicts, and subsequent consequences for our industry such as shortages of materials and manpower, we did correctly identify the overall packaging industry trends,” says Jean-Pascal Bobst, CEO, Bobst Group. “While these trends have undoubtedly been accelerated, BOBST has implemented a strategy and built a portfolio of solutions and services that enables converters and brand owners to thrive even in this new packaging world.”
